The state government has taken a big step in increasing the number of positive cases of coronavirus Covd-19 in Punjab. Free food, shelter and medicines will be provided to those in need in the state. Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has issued an order in this regard. On the other hand, Capt Amarinder also demanded an economic package from the central government in view of the situation arising from Corona. The Chief Minister has demanded that under the National Food Security Act-2013, it should be doubled to five kilograms of food per person and 10 kg. It should be released immediately. All work under the Ministry of Rural Development should be postponed.

The Chief Minister has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in this regard. In it, he appealed for financial assistance to commercial enterprises, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as organized and unorganized workers.
The Chief Minister demanded immediate increase in the financial year from 31st March to 30th April, taking into account the major stir in the most affected micro, small and medium enterprises and tourism and hospitality, health, security and pharma sectors. He demanded the release of Rs 25,000 crore to meet the financial needs of the MSMEs.
